The earth is round becasue of gravity. Gravity tries to pull all mass togther and so if you imaging pulling everything togther very hard, the most efficient shape you can make is a sphere. Any obejct bigger than about 1000km across tries to form a sphere under gravity. The Earth is’t completely sphericla thoghm it bulges at the middle beacuse of the forces generated by it spinning.
