• Question: why do elephants have big ears

      I believe they have big ears to be able to cool down better. It is usually very hot where they live, so flapping their ears about can be the only way they can cool themselves.

      They have big ears so that they can cool down. The lage surface area means when they wave their ears a lot of body heat can be lots.
