• Question: When you work with volcanos, is it the most dangerous part of your job? What equipment do you use for what purpose? Do you ever get the measurements wrong? If so, what is your next move?

You have to be careful of everything. Most of the volcanoes are a log way from anywhere so you want to be very careful you don’t hurt yourself. when working with the lava you normally need to wear gloves and a hat and a gas mask and goggles. Most of the time though you are not near the lava and so you just have to be careful. The rocks are normally loose and it’s very easy to twist your ankle

Measurements have to be done very carefully to make sure you get them right. Sometimes you can’t go back to do them again! We usually measure everything several times, and measure lots of different things so that when one doesn’t work we usually have a back up
