What a difficult question! Can I have more than one, please?

One of the most amazing places I have ever been was the sumit of Mauna Loa, the largest volcano on Earth. As you sit on the summit at sunset there is no noise, and Mauna Loa casts a shaddow across the rest of the Island and the Pacific, and then the stars come out. That high up, and with no light polution, the view is just stunning. It is so bright you can’t really make out the usual constallations.

I think my “favourite” place though is a spot in the beech woods on top of a hill behind where I grew up. I used to (and still do) ride my pony up there, and the view out through the trees over the village where I grew up and the town I went to school in is fantastic, especially when it’s one of the beautiful sunny spring mornings, and you have blue sky over bright green beech leaves, and the bluebells and wild garlic spreading out over the orange leaves on the floor.
