Question: What would happen if a person was inside a particle accelerator whilst it was on and working

If they were just in the same room, they would likely be irradiated so much that they would get cancer and most probably die. If somehow they were in the actual accelerator then there is a vacuum, so they would either suffocate or have any other large number of things happen to them which would make them die. Either way it wouldn’t be nice, so when the accelerators are on we lock the doors and make VERY sure nobody can go in.
