There are loads of theories about why we dream, and whether they serve a purpose or not. Some neuroscientists believe that there are electrical impulses being exchanged between the parts of the brain responsible for visual and audio activity, and that dreams are a multi sensory hallucination. The purpose of dreams is a debate for both neuroscientist and psychologists, I had a quick look on the web and there are quite a few interesting articles.

My old teacher used to say it was the brains way of organising things its learnt or seen.
Whatever it is, it’s cool, especially when you can control it.
