      Applied physics is much the same as just physics, except that we spend lots of time in the lab on our course. So for example, if we taught you how a spectrometer works, we would then go and ask you to build a working one in the lab.
      Applied physics is taking core physics knowledge and then using it to solve real world problems. We do a lot of work on energy generation, biomechanics, imaging, and applied materials.
