  Most of my work is done by trying to create computer models that describe what is going on. What happens in the magnetosphere is very complex, so I try to find which bits are the main parts and which aren’t. I then use real data that has been seen by satellites in space to tell me if my model is correct or getting close.

Question: how would you attempt to do this sort of work?
