Question: does lava evaporate

I suppose, like any element if you could get it hot enough you could “evaporate” lava. The boiling point of Silicon is 2357 degrees C, so it would have to be very hot to do that. Magma only reaches about 1400C maximum as it reaches the surface. The middle of the Earth gets to temperatures hotenough for that (it”s somewhere near 7500 degrees down there), but there weight of all the overlying rock means the pressure is too high for gases to exist.
