My 4th dimension is time. Each of may scans gives me a 3D x-ray image (like you get in a CAT scanner in the hospital) but becasue I use a synchrotron that lots more x-rays than a hospital scanner I can get a 3D image in less than a second. So if I run an experiment to squeeze a magma, or bend a bone, or melt a piece of chocolate or crack a piece of conctete (all experiments I have done) I can get lots of 3D images one after the other – kind of like a 3D movie.
