• Question: at what age did you realise you wanted to become a scientist?

      I was always good at science and enjoyed it at school, but it wasn’t until I got to University that I realised I could work as a research scientist.

      I did my a-levels in politics, English literature and sociology with a view to go into law, I quickly realised that this wasn’t for me. I then started an access degree in computer science which had physics component and I loved it. I started my foundation degree at 20 and knew I wanted to take it all the way
